Hi all,

The forums and associated sites have been offline for the past several hours due to a system administrators issue (i.e. ME!!) where a migration of services which should have taken no more than a few seconds ended up taking several hours to fix. For those of you with technical knowledge:

* IP MTU settings were incorrect and causing connectivity issues between the site and the rest of the Internet
* Migration of IP addresses to a single WAN connection (due to cost cutting on my end) took much longer than expected -- thanks Telstra!
* Cisco router incorrectly configured and failing to route traffic correctly between the site and the rest of the Internet (my stuff up)
* Authentication issues with PPP session established
* Firewall issues blocking legitimate traffic as traffic went across Dialer0 interface instead of Dialer2 interface on the Cisco router

Anyway other than a couple of blips, things should be back to normal, tho there may be a few minutes of downtime here and there for the next few hours as I mop up my own mess :P

The WiFi connection that I use was conveniently out during that time, so... I, at least, didn't miss anything!

*again, hearing the teachers from the Charlie Brown cartoons when the real tech talk starts...*

Yes this is why I put it in simple terms first then I went into the technical details...put simply I stuffed up the plan big time, then in the point form I put in the technical issues I encountered :)

Anyway I am finished with the tinkering so things should be almost normal now.
