The website will be down tomorrow from 5:30am to 9:30am EDT approx. as the server is being moved.

Thanks for your patience!

And it will be me doing the server move! Moving the server to a new and more secure location -- it will also be the location where it will hook into a shiny new fibre optic link into the Internet which will provide substantially faster speeds.

Sorry folks this move and downtime has been postponed by 24 hours. You can thank Telstra for the delay. They are being rather tardy in getting cabling done etc.

Except e-mails are not working for the forum! Which was brought to my attention by our fantastic webmaster. I'll have this fixed up today :)

My connection to the site has been 'iffy' lately - sometimes not connecting at all about 1/5 of the time. Anyone having the same problem?

It's fine on my end. I check daily. I'll talk to Adam tonight if I can catch him online.

Yes there was some flakey-ness yesterday.

This is due to a stack of preparation for the new fibre service which Telstra have started work on -- the fibre has been pulled from the exchange and has entered the building complex, now the work continues from the entry point of the complex up to the MDF (Main Distribution Frame -- where all the telephone lines etc meet up and connect the entire complex for phone and Internet)

Yesterday it was up and down but the down was generally short lived, there'll be a bigger outage in a few weeks time which will be when things get cut over to the fibre service and then it'll be solid as a rock.

On another more minor note -- the forum was having problems emailing people at their registered address when they got an inbox on the forum or when they registered -- this has now been resolved as well.

So THAT'S where my invite to the Olympics went!

That, and a few registration notification e-mails to JFB and myself. Glad I checked it manually last week, it then prompted me to make sure that was fixed right away.

As for the fibre, the big winner of that will be the videos. Right now the speed of that is rather limited.
