it's posted on Funny or Die, only because YouTube wouldn't post the entire film in length.

THANK YOU for posting that, I've looked everywhere.

Such a shame you didn't make it longer Jon, could have made some excellent feature length films :(

I know this is kind of old news... but just in case the link on funnyordie.com no longer works, The Slainesville Boys can also be found in the videos section of this site. :)

The end result was a less-than-stellar really short episode of Ponderosa, poorly directed by someone who borrowed an angle or two from Ang Lee. it's lacking in character development, it's anti-climactic, and there are some serious directorial flaws... NOT the fault of the actors. Couldn't have asked for a better cast or crew.

You'd learn Jon. And this is truly fantastic considering it was your first directorial work.

I finally got to watch this last night. I don't have a lot of experience directing but I have taken a few cinema classes and got down and dirty as a grip and helping with costumes etc. It was only school productions but I went to a fine arts school so we work really hard on our productions and normally win at conferences around the SE.

Watching your film Jon I saw a lot of stuff my teacher taught me and it was so awesome to feel knowledgeable. I got to direct a scene for one of our productions so I know the difficulty of finding just the right angle. It was your first production. I won't lie and say it is my favorite short ever but I really did enjoy it. I liked the way it was shot. I'll have to watch it again to point out my favorite parts but it was better than a lot of short films I've seen the 'professional' film club of my area do. There are a lot of people that act and want to go into directing. I give you props just for actually doing it. You were brave enough to try something different. :happydance:

I agree!
I like your film, Jon. (even with the hats scene) Nice music at the end, too.

I haven't had the chance to watch all of this yet (which is absurd because I have the time) but I agree with all of the comments about it being done well. Give yourself some credit for once Jon for :censored: sake!
